A car's carpet is an expensive accessory that needs to be maintained well. Here are some tips for cleaning the car carpet.
Thanks to auto loans, buying a car or any vehicle is made easy. However, remember that a vehicle is a big investment because every month, a stipulated amount goes towards repaying the car loan. Maintaining your car in a good condition and keeping it clean is a major responsibility. Nobody would want to travel in a car that is messy or dirty.

Car Carpet Cleaning Process

Take your car to a car-servicing center at least once a month for a wash. To keep the interiors of the car free from dust and dirt, clean it every weekend. Use a handheld vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the seats.
If you have vinyl car mats, then clean them using a soap solution and a sponge. Use a standard window cleaner to clean the windowpanes and fiber lining of the windows, and also to add a sparkle to it. However, if you have a carpet over the car mats, then it is advisable to use a good carpet cleaner or a carpet shampoo.
A car carpet is an additional accessory that adds beauty to the interiors of your car. Given are a few tips for cleaning it. Shop for a quality car carpet cleaner. Choose an automotive-specific carpet cleaner available in the form of a spray or foam. Carpet cleaners contain detergents and surfactants that penetrate into the carpet fabric to loosen the dirt.
Carpet cleaners not only remove the stains but also restore the original color, softness, and the plush feeling of the fabric. Use a carpet cleaner that is also an odor neutralizer. Two-in-one carpet cleaners help to replace the musty smell with a good fragrance.

Carpet Shampoo

A carpet shampoo is one of the upholstery cleaners that is widely used to clean not only the upholstery of the car seats but also the carpet of the car. Before using the carpet shampoo, use a wet-dry vacuum cleaner to vacuum the carpet. This would free it from minute dust particles including hair, paper bits, and sand.
Use a scrub brush to rub in the shampoo suds into the carpet. Use as little water as possible when scrubbing the carpet. Once you have cleared the dirt and stains from the carpet, rinse it well to remove the suds. The last step is to vacuum the carpet using a wet-dry vacuum cleaner. Dry the car carpet well, prior to using it again.

Stain Removal

If you happen to spill tea or coffee on the car carpet, blot the area with a tissue paper immediately to remove the excess liquid. This will prevent the stain from setting in. However, if the stain has dried, then use water to saturate the area before removing it.
Spray a mild shampoo or carpet cleaner on the area to remove the stain. (If you are using the carpet cleaner for the first time, then spot test it in a not-easily-seen area of the carpet).
After removing the stains, place paper towels over the cleaned area to absorb the remaining moisture. Keep a heavy object like a spanner or stone as a weight over the paper towels. Allow the carpet to dry. Using a vacuum cleaner, vacuum the carpet once more before putting it in the car.
