Generally, if the exterior is painted in red, appropriate colors can be a combination of red and white. Read on for some tips on how to apply interior paint.

Painting Car Interiors

Before starting to do the painting job, cleaning the interior thoroughly needs to be done. The first step is to take out all removable electronic accessories, and vents and knobs from the dashboard.
After taking them out properly, wash them with soap, and let dry in the sun or using a blow dryer. Now you have to get off dust and dirt from the remaining parts by brushing with a scrub. Before applying the masking tape, blow dry the interior parts. Apply masking tape where you do not want to apply the paint.
If the dashboard is made up of plastic, use a sandpaper and rub it softly for the primer to be secure on it. Wipe with rubbing alcohol, and clean with a dry cloth, making sure no residue is present on the interior parts.
The next step would be to apply a quality primer from a reputed brand on the car interior, so that the paint can be secure on the surface. Make sure you choose the kind of paint considering the surface which needs to be painted; such as vinyl dash paint for the dashboard or vinyl plastic paint for any plastic surface.
Using spray painting techniques, apply appropriate vinyl paints; taking in mind that more the layers, darker will be the shade. Remember that the nozzle of the spray gun needs to be 16 - 18 inches far from the surface when applying paint. Also ensure that you move the gun on the surface in a smooth back and forth motion.
You can even consider applying paint to the upholstery. After the painting is done, open the car windows, and let dry naturally. In addition, you can even use a blow dryer to speed up the drying process. After the paint is dry, install all accessories back, and test if they work.
This is a standard procedure of applying vinyl car interior paint. You can have the color and shade you like by applying multiple coats of paint. Painting car interior at home can prove to be a good step for saving on labor costs. In order for the paint to remain new for a longer time, you can use a window sun blocker for that matter.
